We’re really happy to share our three chosen corporate charities for 2021. Each is a worthy cause and we’ve been reading about the amazing work they do. For every new or renewed client contract, we’ll give a percentage of that income to one of the three charities – even though as a team we chose the charities, it will be our clients who get to choose who they donate to. This felt like a great way of giving something back but also democratising the choice.
When we asked our team to suggest a charity we could support as a business, it resulted in a truly inspiring list – so much so, we thought it would be good to think about how, as a team, we could get behind a few of the ones not selected as a Corporate Charity. The upshot is that we have chosen four more charities which we’ll be supporting on a quarterly basis. The four charities listed below have some local resonance with various team members and will give us the chance to collaborate on some fun challenges as a group throughout the year.
The London Marathon has always been a way for charities to fundraise on a large scale but with it being cancelled for the second year running there’s this great initiative to ‘Save the UK’s Charities’ by taking part in the 2.6 challenge. The Meet & Engage team will be running, walking, skipping, baking, hopping, cartwheeling, scooting and pogo-sticking our way through the month of May. For example, our latest joiner Paul Nash is attempting to cycle 260 miles whilst CEO Ali Hackett is completing 26 acts of random kindness. For our first quarter of 2021 we set ourselves the challenge of collectively walking the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats (roughly 1,000km) – with a dog in tow! As a team we managed a total of 1,218km walked and smashed our target of £1000 raised.
